IOS Telecom

Communications Concierge

  • How it works:
  • Simple guest dialing instructions provided for each hotel room (see next slide for example).
  • Phone call is automatically transferred through the hotel PBX, to IOS’s international call center in the United States.
  • Revenue derived from phone calls charged to the receiving party, or charged to guest credit cards.
  • Hotel receives revenue share based on number of billed guest calls.
  • Online call and revenue reporting provided to corporate offices as well as each individual property.
  • IOS pays for all expenses related to hotel tent card advertising and any necessary PBX programming.
  • Why the need for this service?
  • Convenience: Most guests will use their mobile phones to place calls while traveling. However, there is a large percentage of guests who enjoy the convenience and service of using a room phone with live operator assistance. In most cases the quality is much better than using their mobile phone which might be low on battery, broken, or lost.
  • Value: In many cases guests are unfamiliar with the language and dialing procedures in the host country. By offering easy access to live operator assistance from the room, in your guest's own language, the hotel has anticipated this potential need and has made a valuable upscale calling feature available as one of it's service amenities.
  • Options: Some guests simply need the additional calling and billing options; A guest may want to place a reverse charge call (collect) to their bank or credit card company to inquire about a lost or stolen card. They may want to bill the call to a personal or business credit card or phone number to keep expenses separate.
